Light interaction with matter is a complex physical phenomenon. It is the key defining factor in LASER processing of all materials as much as in LASER technology itself. It involves material science, atomic and molecular interactions, thermodynamics, reaction kinetics and plasma physics. Developing a new manufacturing process requires a methodical approach in assessing the materials properties and relevant laser technologies, process speed and manufacturing conditions, automation considerations and the total production methodology and requirements.
Lumpi Ltd offers more than 15 years of industrial LASER process development experience across multiple industrial applications in microelectronics, steel and metals manufacturing, polymers, glass, ceramics and composites. With specific focus on surface properties, micromachining, nanoparticles and layer processing it’s processes are adopted in today’s advanced materials and net zero oriented industries in UK and across four continents.
Our method of development is conducted in a minimum of 3 key stages, were the work is segregated accordingly. Each stage produces undependable exploitable results and intellectual property for the client thus alleviating risk and reducing costs and uncertainty. As a result of the process development Lumpi can propose and standard off the shelf manufacturing equipment to conduct the process with fine-tuned process parameters or design of a bespoke automated manufacturing system to match the clients performance requirements.
